May 31, 2020:
Grab a cup of coffee or tea, this is a long post. It’s from the heart, and it’s about the events of this past week.
I grew up in a very poor section of Dorchester. The Parish was (and is) quite diverse — White, African American, Hispanic and Latino and many other cultures and races and creeds.
Caroletta: My first crush, the first real love of my life, (at the mature age of 14) was Caroletta Purdy, an absolutely beautiful African American girl with a heart of gold who saw past the bullies that endlessly taunted me and attacked me and saw the sky kid and became the first girl I could really talk to, confide in, and share hopes and dreams.
