Since 1996, I have written a regular Op-Ed column for the Foxboro Reporter, a weekly paper in Massachusetts. Since 2006, I am also writing for the Boston City Paper. My first book, "Nana: My grandmother, Anne Gillis" is published commercially and is available at Amazon, Borders, Barnes & Noble, and more. My Comic Book Fan Fiction and Commentary
What was so special about the silver age of comic books? Read about it HERE

Superman stops... a litterbug.
Pa Kent always said to Clark, "You were put here for a reason." This ain't it.

Spanking your super-kids
Will Ma and Pa Kent never learn that Clark is INVULNERABLE? Also, Clark Kent turns chicken for real and I still hate Lucy Lane.

The Super Monkey from Krypton
A fond, and not too serious, look back at the science and absurdity of Beppo, the super monkey from Krypton. Some Superman stories don’t hold up as well thirty years later.

Looking back at the irresistible Lois Lane

Another fond, and not too serious, look back at the silver age story in which Lois Lane rescues Superman from a Kryptonite deathtrap very, very, very slowly.

The Silver Age Superboy!
My great love for the Silver-Age comic book stories (particularly Superman) knows no end - I grew up with them and loved them despite the veritable ton of exposition, the preposterous stories, the ridiculous situations, the insane amount of information and implausibility crammed into every panel. And Superboy, well, he was the king of the genre!

When GillisPhotos.com was launched in early 2005, everything was created with a mix of Perl scripts to generate pieces of HTML code. Not rocket science, but adding galleries, new pages and photos was tedious and time consuming. Ktools Photostore proved to be a Godsend. With Ktools Photostore, customization is easy, updates and changes are a breeze, and adding photos and galleries is simple. In addition, Ktools Photostore has dozens of features designed specifically for photo sellers. Ktools Photostore allows me to concentrate on photography rather than coding and scripting. I HIGHLY recommend Ktools Photostore.   Click here to learn more.
